The Avarohana of the raga is Sa’ Ni Dha Pa Ma Ga Re Sa (Here the swara Ma is Tivra). The Arohana of the raga is Ni Re Ga Ma Dha Ni Sa’ (Here the swara Ma is Tivra). The nature of Raag Yaman is Romantic and depicts the Shaant Rasa as well. Raag Yaman is sung in the first quarter of the night between 6 – 9 pm. It is one of the first ragas a Hindustani classical student learns and is considered to be one of the most fundamental ragas in the tradition. ![]() Yaman is a sampurna (consists of 7 notes) raga from the Hindustani music tradition.
